Fallen leaves engulf the city’s byways,

Is this what I get for doing things my way?

Autumn colors as far as I can view,

Why can’t I stop thinking of you?

Rose tinted cheeks and colored sweaters,

Am I ever going to feel better?

Children playing in the leaves; one yells out “hold me”,

So this is what it feels like to truly feel lonely?

As the seasons change so too do I,

Like the leaves on the ground, some parts have to die.
