Something Borrowed
Today has a story to tell
Ringing through air like a bell
In languages I understand
Most of which I can’t
Millions of souls walk the streets
Only one of which is me
Rain streaks down a window pane
Tears relieve overwhelming pain
Laughter cascades around the block
Round the corner and suddenly unlock
Memories hid within that sound
Alike to grief from someone down
Both places I have been before
Grieving one moment another I sore
This is a day littered with moments
Joyful and sorrowful tremendously potent
Living still within space and time
Constantly looking for a universal sign
Some sort of meaning to take
Forgetting it is we who make
Moments matter in some way
Is it not all one in the same
Euphoria will eventually disappoint
Both are two sides of the same coin
Meaning and emotions matter sure
Careful not take from truth so pure
Yesterday is today which is tomorrow
Time is just something we borrow
